iPhone users can set any sound as an alarm, including Apple Music songs or custom audio files, by using the Clock app and the Share sheet.

To change your iPhone alarm sound, there are a couple of methods. If you are an Apple Music subscriber, you can choose any song from the library of over 100 million tracks. First, add the song to your library by opening Apple Music, searching for the track, and tapping the plus icon. Then, open the Clock app, go to the Alarm tab, and create a new alarm or edit an existing one. Tap Sound, then Pick a song, select the desired track, and save.

For a completely custom sound, starting with iOS 26, the process is straightforward. Locate the audio file in the Files app, long press it, and choose Share > Use as Ringtone. If the file is longer than 30 seconds, you will be prompted to trim it. After that, open the Clock app, select an alarm, and under Sound you will find your custom tone. This method also works for audio received via iMessage or email, or recordings from Voice Memos.
