Marička, a Ukrainian ethnomusicologist, folklorist, and public activist living in Canada, has been using her artistry to support Ukraine's fight for independence since the 2014 Maidan protests. She has gained international recognition through projects such as 'Божичі', 'Lemon Bucket Orkestra', and 'Balaklava Blues'. Her latest project, the ensemble 'Daughters of Donbas', released its debut album 'Songs of Stolen Children', which reached number one on the European world music chart in April 2026. Marička believes that the Revolution of Dignity showed that creative individuals cannot stay outside politics, and she continues to channel her art into support for Ukraine.
