Canada Officially Confirms Participation in Eurovision 2027
Canadian broadcaster CBC/Radio-Canada, after joining the EBU, has announced it will take part in the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest in Bulgaria.

Canada has confirmed its participation in the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held in Bulgaria. The decision came shortly after the Canadian national broadcaster CBC/Radio-Canada officially became a member of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) on June 25.
Canada will thus become the first North American country to compete in Eurovision, expanding the contest's geographic reach. While details on the selection process for the Canadian entrant have yet to be revealed, this step marks a significant milestone both for the contest itself and for Canada's cultural landscape.
Organized by the EBU since 1956, Eurovision has traditionally featured European countries, but in recent years it has included nations such as Australia. Canada's addition further reinforces the trend of the contest becoming more global.
It is not yet known whether Canada will participate in any contests before 2027. Nevertheless, the announcement has generated considerable excitement among Eurovision fans, who look forward to a more diverse musical offering and new traditions.
