On this hot Saturday, water temperatures at Riga's official swimming spots range from +15°C to +20°C. The warmest water is found in Bābelītis Lake and at the Lucavsala beach, where it has reached +20°C. In Ķīšezers Lake the water is +19°C, while at the Bolderāja quarry it is +18°C. Along the Daugava River, temperatures are +17°C near Rumbula and at Vakarbuļļi beach, +16°C at Vecāķi, and +15°C at Daugavgrīva.
The Riga Municipal Police encourages residents to choose one of the city's nine designated swimming areas, which are patrolled by lifeguards throughout the season. Lifeguards are on duty daily from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. At night, assistance is available at six rescue stations: Vecāķi, Vakarbuļļi, Lucavsala, Rumbula, Bābelītis, and Ķīšezers. However, note that fewer lifeguards work during the night shifts compared to daytime.
