Curtis Jones leaves Liverpool for Inter Milan in £30m move
Inter Milan have agreed a deal worth around 35m euros to sign midfielder Curtis Jones from Liverpool, with the 25-year-old signing a contract until 2031.

Inter Milan have completed the signing of midfielder Curtis Jones from Liverpool in a transfer worth around 35m euros, roughly £30m. The package consists of a 30m euro base fee plus up to 5m euros in potential add-ons. The 25-year-old has put pen to paper on a contract with the Serie A champions running until 2031.
Jones said he was excited about the move, describing Inter as a club he had wanted to join for some time and framing the transfer as the right next step in his career after coming through Liverpool's ranks.
As part of the agreement, Liverpool secured a 10% sell-on clause covering any future transfer of Jones. The move follows a lengthy negotiation: in June, Liverpool turned down a verbal offer of 25m euros from Inter, valuing their academy product—who had just a year left on his contract—at closer to £35m. Liverpool later indicated a fee in line with the roughly £30m Inter paid Tottenham for Djed Spence would likely get a deal done. Inter had also shown interest in January, proposing a loan with an option to buy, which Liverpool rejected at the time.
A Liverpool academy product
Jones joined Liverpool's academy at nine years old and made his first-team debut under Jurgen Klopp in 2019, going on to make 228 appearances for the club. Last season under Arne Slot, he featured 49 times across all competitions but started just 18 Premier League matches, struggling to hold down a regular midfield spot.
He becomes the third English player to join Inter this summer, following John Stones and Djed Spence. In a farewell message on Instagram, Jones reflected on 16 years at the club, saying he arrived as a boy and was leaving as a man with a family of his own, while stressing Liverpool would always remain a major part of his life.
