The US military on Saturday confirmed the first troop deaths from direct Iranian fire since the start of the Iran war, with two killed and one missing in an attack on a base in Jordan on Friday. Four other service members were evacuated to Jordanian hospitals and later discharged. Since the war began, 16 US troops have been killed and over 430 wounded.

Minutes before the attack, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei warned of 'unforgettable lessons' if the US continues attacking Iran. In a written statement read on state TV, he said US attacks after signing the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to cease hostilities proved President Donald Trump's signature was 'worthless and invalid'. Meanwhile, Iran's deputy foreign minister Kazem Gharibabadi said Tehran is suspending its commitments to the interim deal signed about a month ago, accusing the US of violating its obligations.

Iranian strikes on Saturday hit Kuwait, where a water desalination plant and an oil facility were struck, causing a fire and forcing power units offline. Several firefighters and workers were injured. Kuwait briefly closed its airspace and rescheduled flights. Iraq said it shot down attack drones over Irbil, while Jordan's air defense intercepted Iranian missiles. Air sirens sounded multiple times in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

The US Central Command said its seventh straight night of strikes hit 'surveillance sites, military logistics infrastructure, underground weapons storage, and maritime capabilities'. Iranian state TV reported that an electricity and desalination plant in Hormozgan province was destroyed, cutting water to about 10,000 people, and a desalination plant on Qeshm Island was damaged. Iran acknowledged attacks on power infrastructure for the first time Friday. Iranian authorities say at least 50 people have been killed and over 500 wounded in US strikes over three weeks. Iran has effectively closed the Strait of Hormuz to shipping, sending oil prices soaring. Trump has renewed threats to target power stations and bridges to compel Iran to loosen its hold on the waterway.
