Lithuanian President Arrives in Kyiv
Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda arrived in Kyiv on August 23 to take part in Ukraine's Flag Day and Independence Day events and meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda arrived in Kyiv on the morning of August 23, he announced on social media platform X.
Nausėda said that over the next two days he will take part in events marking Ukraine's Flag Day and Independence Day. He also has a planned meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The Lithuanian leader will additionally take part in discussions with Nordic and Baltic allies, as well as in a meeting of the so-called "coalition of the willing."
"I stand in solidarity with Ukraine today — during its national holidays — and always," Nausėda said.
His visit follows that of German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, who arrived in Kyiv on a solidarity visit a few days ahead of the 35th anniversary of Ukraine's independence. The German minister's trip came after Russia struck Kyiv with ballistic missiles and jet-powered drones overnight on August 22.
