Chinese-made humanoid robot outruns Usain Bolt's 100m record
Chinese smartphone maker Honor says its robot Lightning completed the 100m sprint in 9.32 seconds, beating Usain Bolt's human world record, at the World Humanoid Robot Games in Beijing.

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Honor has announced that its humanoid robot, named Lightning, ran the 100m sprint in 9.32 seconds — faster than the human world record of 9.58 seconds set by eight-time Olympic gold medallist Usain Bolt in 2009.
The slim, black-and-red robot achieved the time at the World Humanoid Robot Games taking place in Beijing, which began on Saturday.
More than just running
Alongside sprinting, the games feature a range of other human-style disciplines, including boxing and football, as well as everyday household tasks such as folding laundry. Organisers expect more than 2,000 robots from 16 countries to take part in the competition.
The event takes place as China continues to showcase its substantial investment in robotics technology.
