Konotop, a city in Ukraine's northeastern Sumy region, has been without electricity for a fourth day following Russian attacks on the night of 24 October. According to Mayor Artem Semenikhin, the city was still without power as of the night of 27 October, and most of it has no gas either. There is currently no forecast for when electricity will return. The mayor spoke on the public broadcaster Suspilne and posted on his Telegram channel.
Situation in the city
Semenikhin said educational institutions have been damaged and even the city hospital is running on generators. Water is supplied on a schedule: from 6:00 to 9:00 and from 18:00 to 21:00.
The mayor stressed that the electricity situation remains uncertain: "Unfortunately, there are no forecasts for the power. No forecasts at all."
Sumyoblenergo, the Sumy region power utility, said emergency crews are working continuously to deal with the consequences of the strikes on energy facilities. However, the timeline depends on the security situation and the ability to work at damaged sites.
What happened earlier
