Krakow Named World's Cleanest City; Budapest Dirtiest
A study analyzing over 70,000 traveler reviews has ranked Krakow, Poland as the world's cleanest city, while Budapest tops the list of the dirtiest.
Luggage storage company "Radical Storage" conducted a study to determine the cleanest and dirtiest cities in the world, based on more than 70,000 traveler reviews of 100 popular tourist destinations. For each city, the ten most significant attractions were analyzed, searching for the keywords "clean" and "dirty." Only cities with sufficient reviews were included in the ranking.
Krakow, Poland, was named the cleanest city globally, with 98.5% of reviews mentioning cleanliness positively. The study highlights efficient waste management, well-maintained public spaces, and responsible attitudes among residents. Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates came second (98%), followed by Singapore (97.9%), long regarded as one of the cleanest cities.

At the other end of the spectrum, Budapest is the dirtiest city, with 37.9% of reviews negative about cleanliness. Travelers most frequently complained about overflowing trash bins and unkempt public areas. Rome ranks second (35.7%), and Las Vegas third (31.6%).
