Russia has completed the restoration of 5,100 Cold War-era tanks by reviving engines that were once written off as unrecoverable. Two contracts at separate Russian plants brought back these engines, which the Kremlin had given up on. The revival of these so-called 'previously unrecoverable' engines made it possible to finish the restoration of a large fleet of Cold War-vintage tanks.
