On Wednesday morning, August 20, at around 6:40 a.m., Russian occupying forces struck a market in the Korabelnyi district of Kherson, injuring five people, according to the Kherson Regional Military Administration.

Among the wounded are two women, aged 35 and 54, and three men, aged 38, 49 and 64. Doctors diagnosed them with mine-blast injuries, concussions and shrapnel wounds to the torso. The injured are currently receiving necessary medical care, and doctors are conducting additional examinations.

City authorities confirmed that the strike on the market occurred at approximately 6:40 a.m.

Previous attacks

The strike follows a series of Russian drone attacks on Kherson the previous day, August 19, which killed two people and wounded another.

Kherson and its surrounding areas regularly come under Russian artillery and drone fire due to the city's proximity to the front line and the Dnipro River, which borders Russian-controlled territory.
