The number of people killed in the Russian air strike on the village of Komyshuvakha in Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia region on 2 November has reached 55. Rescuers are still searching the rubble.

Ukraine's State Emergency Service (DSNS) has said that the death toll from the Russian air strike on the village of Komyshuvakha in the Zaporizhzhia region, in south-eastern Ukraine, has risen to 55. The strike took place on 2 November, during Russia's war against Ukraine. The figure may still change, because the search continues.
New finds in the rubble
Over the past day, rescuers found the bodies and remains of nine more people under the debris. Despite difficult conditions and a constant threat of repeat Russian strikes, rescuers and dog handlers are continuing to clear the rubble and survey the area in search of the dead.
What happened before
According to the report, on 2 November Russian forces attacked a school in Komyshuvakha with aerial bombs while humanitarian aid was being handed out there. On 5 November it was reported that police officers and rescuers were among those killed in the strike.
The emergency service's statement does not say how many people were injured or are still being sought. The death toll has grown, rescue work goes on, and official figures are being updated as new victims are found.
