The death toll from Russian air strikes on Komyshuvakha in Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia region has risen to 29. Another 48 people are listed as missing, and rescue work is continuing.

The number of people killed in Russian air strikes on Komyshuvakha, in Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia Oblast in the southeast of the country, has risen to 29. Mykhailo Semikin, head of the Zaporizhzhia regional administration, announced this on social media on 3 November. The strikes came during Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine and are among the deadliest civilian losses in the region.
Casualties and missing people
According to Semikin, five more people were injured in addition to those killed. A further 48 people are considered missing. That means the final number of victims may still change, as the fate of many residents remains unknown.
Rescue operation
Search and rescue work is continuing at the site of the strikes. The official stressed the scale of what happened, saying: "The scale of the tragedy is terrible. Behind every number is a human life, a family that has lost its loved ones or is still waiting for news of them."
The source gives no further details about how the strikes unfolded, what weapons were used or which buildings were hit. More information on the numbers of dead and missing is expected as rescuers continue working at the scene.
