Russian drones strike Sumy, two people injured
Overnight on August 21, Russian jet-powered drones struck the Ukrainian city of Sumy, sparking fires in residential areas including a two-storey building, with two people injured.

Overnight on August 21, Russia attacked the Ukrainian city of Sumy with jet-powered drones, according to Serhii Kryvosheienko, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, who reported the strikes on social media.
One of the strikes hit the Kovpakivskyi district, sparking a fire in a two-storey residential building. Kryvosheienko initially said the full extent of the damage was still being determined and urged residents to stay in safe locations as the attack continued.
Multiple locations hit
Later, the administration head clarified that the massive drone attack on Sumy targeted the city's civilian infrastructure and residential areas specifically in the Kovpakivskyi district. Fires broke out at several locations. He added that the threat of repeated strikes was hampering rescue workers' efforts.
Two people were injured as a result of the strike on the two-storey residential building.
Earlier attacks
Prior to this, Russian occupying forces also attacked Zaporizhzhia, where a 19-year-old man was injured in the strikes.
