Russian drone sparks major fire at school in Kyiv Oblast
A Russian drone hit a school in the Vyshhorod district of Kyiv Oblast on the evening of September 25, triggering a fire across more than 300 square meters. No children were present and no injuries were reported.
A Russian drone struck Ivanivka School No. 2 in the Vyshhorod district of Kyiv Oblast on the evening of September 25, setting off a large fire, according to Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv Oblast Military Administration.
Tkachenko reported that the blaze spread across more than 300 square meters of the school building. Firefighters were dispatched to the scene and worked to bring the flames under control.
Fortunately, no children were inside the school at the time of the strike, and no injuries were reported. Tkachenko noted that the school normally serves around 1,100 students in total.
Part of a broader pattern of attacks
The regional administration head framed the strike as part of an escalating pattern of Russian attacks on civilian and public infrastructure, including educational institutions where children study. He described the incident as yet another blow against ordinary, peaceful life in the region.
No official explanation has been offered from the Russian side regarding the strike. Ukrainian authorities continue to document such incidents as part of a wider campaign of attacks against civilian sites across the country.
