At around 10:25 a.m. local time on Tuesday, the operator of a Russian combat drone directed an explosive device at a passenger minibus in downtown Kherson. The attack was reported by Yaroslav Shanko, head of the Kherson City Military Administration, on social media, and confirmed by video footage from the administration as well as the Kherson Regional Military Administration.

Three people were injured in the strike. A 59-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman suffered mine-blast injuries. The 55-year-old driver of the minibus sustained a concussion, a blast injury and a closed head injury. All three are currently receiving necessary medical care, and doctors are conducting further examinations.

Official's comment

Shanko said the enemy attacked civilian transport in broad daylight, while people were simply going about their everyday business. He described the strike as another cynical crime committed by Russians against peaceful residents of Kherson.

Earlier attack

Earlier the same morning, on August 27, Russian forces used a drone to attack a man riding a bicycle in Kherson's Korabelnyi district. The man died at the scene.
