Russian forces carried out a strike on Kharkiv on the afternoon of 9 August, damaging an infrastructure facility, according to city mayor Ihor Terekhov.

Terekhov initially said the strike hit an industrial area in the city's Nemyshlianskyi district, but later corrected this, saying the actual site was located in the Industrialnyi district. He did not specify what kind of facility was hit.

As of 18:00 local time, no casualties had been reported.

Preceding attacks

Overnight into 9 August, Russian forces had already carried out a missile strike on Odesa, injuring eight people. That attack damaged energy infrastructure, cutting electricity to parts of the city, which is also facing ongoing problems with water supply and communications.

The same night, a Russian strike also damaged civilian infrastructure facilities and a German-owned company in Zhytomyr Oblast.
