Su-24M Bomber Crashes in Khmelnytskyi Oblast, Both Crew Members Killed

A Ukrainian Su-24M frontline bomber crashed in Khmelnytskyi Oblast on the evening of June 16, killing both crew members.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported that a Su-24M frontline bomber from the 7th Petro Franko Tactical Aviation Brigade crashed in Khmelnytskyi Oblast at approximately 19:00 on June 16, 2026. The aircraft was carrying out a combat mission when the accident occurred. Both crew members, the pilot and navigator, were killed. The Air Force identified the deceased as Major Bohdan Zaharulko and Senior Lieutenant Bohdan Babenko. Rescue and law enforcement personnel are working at the crash site. Preliminary reports indicate no civilian casualties. The causes and circumstances of the crash are under investigation.
