Two city council staff killed in Russian strike on Sumy
A Russian strike on a residential building in Sumy, Ukraine killed two employees of the city council's executive committee, part of an attack that left eight people injured, including two children.
Russian forces struck a multi-story residential building in the Ukrainian city of Sumy on September 18 using a guided aerial bomb. The attack killed two employees of the Sumy city council's executive committee.
Sumy deputy mayor Rima Bykova reported the incident on social media, saying the city had endured another terrifying evening. She described the two victims as wonderful, kind people and highly qualified professionals.
According to information published on the Sumy city council's website, one of the victims, Roman Trepalin, headed the department for competitive procurement. The other victim, Alla Korniienko, held the position of head of the legal affairs department.
In total, the strike on the residential building killed two people and injured eight others, including two children.
