Russian drone destroys Nova Poshta facility in Chernihiv Oblast

On the evening of 3 August, Russian forces launched a drone attack on the town of Pryluky in Chernihiv Oblast, destroying a cargo branch operated by Nova Poshta, Ukraine's largest private postal and courier company.

According to Nova Poshta, the branch was completely destroyed in the strike. The company noted that all employees and customers who were present at the time had taken refuge in a shelter, and no one among them was harmed.

The local branch of Ukraine's public broadcaster, Suspilne Chernihiv, reported that the attack involved three strike drones. One of them hit the Nova Poshta facility, while the other two targeted warehouse buildings where agricultural machinery was stored. The extent of damage to those warehouses has not been fully specified.

Suspilne also reported that a man suffered shrapnel injuries during the attack and was taken to a hospital for medical treatment. No further details about his condition were provided.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine was also mentioned as a source, but no additional statements from that agency were included in the initial report.

This incident is part of the ongoing pattern of Russian strikes against civilian infrastructure in Ukraine, which have repeatedly damaged postal facilities, warehouses and other logistics hubs across the country. Nova Poshta has previously reported similar attacks on its premises in various regions.

Local authorities have not yet released a full assessment of the consequences of the strike, including the monetary value of the losses or the impact on postal services in the area. The attack once again underscores the continuing threat faced by Ukrainian communities away from the front lines.

The town of Pryluky is located in the northern part of the country, and while it has experienced aerial alerts and occasional strikes, it remains under Ukrainian control. Emergency services were working at the scene to assess the damage and ensure safety.
