Russian attack on Kyiv kills 11, injures 46
A Russian attack on Kyiv on July 6 killed 11 people, injured 46 including two children, and damaged at least 15 residential buildings.

In the early hours of July 6, 2026, Russian forces launched a combined attack on Kyiv, using a variety of weapons. According to the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office and the State Emergency Service, the attack left 11 people dead and 46 injured, among them two children.
The main impact and debris fall areas were the Darnytskyi and Podilskyi districts of Kyiv, with damage also reported in Holosiivskyi and Obolonskyi districts. In the Podilskyi district, one residential building had apartments completely destroyed from the 5th to the 9th floors. In the Darnytskyi district, a fire broke out, and apartments on floors 2 through 5 in a 25-story building were destroyed. Debris also ignited apartments in a 30-story high-rise.
Rescue operations are ongoing. A nine-story building in Podilskyi suffered a collapse from the 9th to the 5th floor; rescue teams are searching for people, with psychologists on site. Efforts continue at other damaged residential addresses in Podilskyi, Darnytskyi, and Holosiivskyi districts. In the Obolonskyi district, firefighters are still extinguishing a blaze at warehouse facilities.
The final toll of dead and injured is still being determined.
