Russian attack damages food warehouse and café in Odesa Oblast
A large-scale Russian attack on the city of Odesa and the south of the oblast damaged a food warehouse, a café and holiday resort buildings. No casualties were reported and the fires have been put out.

Russian forces carried out a large-scale attack on Odesa Oblast in southern Ukraine overnight into 9 October, damaging civilian infrastructure in the city of Odesa and in the southern part of the oblast. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine and Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Oblast Military Administration, reported the damage. The strike comes amid Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine.
What was damaged
The State Emergency Service said the roof of a warehouse storing food was damaged in Odesa, and a fire broke out there. In the south of the oblast, an office building and outbuildings on the grounds of a holiday resort were hit. Dry grass also caught fire.
At another location, 11 buildings at holiday resorts were damaged and a café building was destroyed. Kiper said the enemy continues to attack civilian infrastructure in Odesa Oblast.
Aftermath
The emergency service said all fires have been extinguished. No casualties have been recorded.
Context
Russia attacked Ukraine with 136 drones overnight on 8–9 October. Air defence forces shot down 114 of the unmanned aerial vehicles.
