A Russian attack on the Koziatyn hromada (a local community unit) in Vinnytsia Oblast in central Ukraine has killed two people, a 13-year-old girl and a woman. Four others were injured, including three children. The details were reported by Natalia Zabolotna, head of the Vinnytsia Oblast Military Administration, and by Ukraine's State Emergency Service.

According to Zabolotna, the strike hit an area between student accommodation and an educational institution. The emergency service says a Russian drone struck student accommodation at a vocational school.

Casualties

Initial reports said one person was killed instantly and a woman was taken to intensive care, where she later died. Zabolotna subsequently clarified that the person killed was a 13-year-old girl, not a man as first reported.

Three children were taken to hospital: two five-year-olds and a 16-year-old boy. All have moderate injuries. The number of injured later rose to four, when a 24-year-old man was taken to hospital with mild injuries. He is receiving the necessary treatment.

Aftermath

The attack set two cars on fire, and firefighters extinguished the blazes. The Oblast Military Administration and the State Emergency Service published photos from the site, showing a car destroyed by fire.
