Russian attack in Ukraine's Vinnytsia region kills girl, 13, and woman; six wounded
A Russian attack on the Koziatyn community in Ukraine's Vinnytsia region killed a 13-year-old girl and a woman. Six people were wounded, including four children, one of whom, a five-year-old girl, is in serious condition.

A Russian attack on the Koziatyn community in the Vinnytsia region of central Ukraine has killed two people: a 13-year-old girl and a woman. Six others were wounded, four of them children. The information came from Nataliia Zabolotna, head of the Vinnytsia regional military administration, and from Ukraine's State Emergency Service (DSNS), whose rescuers worked at the scene. The strike hit civilian infrastructure, showing that regions far from the front line also suffer during the war.
How the attack unfolded
Zabolotna said the strike landed between a dormitory and one of the educational institutions. DSNS reported that a Russian drone hit the grounds of a vocational school dormitory. Rescuers put out fires in two cars that were set alight by the impact.
Condition of the victims
Initial reports spoke of a man and a woman killed, but Zabolotna later corrected this: the victims were a 13-year-old girl, not a man, and a woman. The woman was taken to intensive care but died.
The number of wounded later rose. At about 9 p.m. Zabolotna said six people were injured. Four are children: three five-year-olds and a 16-year-old boy. One of the five-year-old girls is in serious condition, while the other three children have moderate injuries. A man and a woman with minor injuries were also hospitalised, one of them a 24-year-old man. All the wounded are receiving the necessary medical care.
