Russian strikes on Kyiv leave 24 injured since morning
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that Russian attacks on the capital on 28 September injured 24 people, including three children, while one woman was killed.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said that since the morning of 28 September, Russian attacks on the Ukrainian capital have injured 24 people. Three of those hurt are children. Six of the injured, including two children, are currently receiving inpatient hospital treatment. One woman lost her life in the attacks.
Academy of Sciences hit
Earlier in the day, a Russian drone struck a building belonging to the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in Kyiv. The strike killed Nataliia Bukalo, an aide to Volodymyr Horbulin, who previously served as secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defence Council.
Medical centre also targeted
A separate Russian strike hit the Dobrobut medical centre on Antonovycha Street in Kyiv, injuring seven people, six of whom were staff at the facility.
In the evening, Russian drones also struck a non-residential building and a warehouse in Kyiv's Obolonskyi district. No additional casualties from that particular strike have been reported so far. The series of attacks underscores the continued intensity of Russian strikes on the Ukrainian capital, affecting civilian, scientific and healthcare facilities alike.
