Travel inspiration often comes from friends' recommendations or photos on social media. Today's tourists are looking not just for beautiful places, but for people, emotions, and experiences that cannot be bought. Social media has become a main source of inspiration, and people trust others' stories more than traditional advertising.

Kuldīga has a great advantage in this regard—it offers many stories that guests want to take with them and pass on. The author, who recently moved to the town, sees many things with a fresh perspective. Although locals often take their town for granted, visitors find it a real discovery. Residents of big cities appreciate Kuldīga's compactness—everything is within walking distance: the river, the bridge, the old town, beautiful views, good food, and modern apartments. To them, the town feels like one large, lively quarter.

In the warm season, Kuldīga sees an influx of both local and foreign visitors. A clean city, open terraces, and hospitality create an environment where people want to stay longer. Quality is determined not just by a single product or service, but by the overall experience. This is evident in gastronomic events—for example, this year the classic Restaurant Week was replaced by the campaign "Catch the Flavor!" focusing on fish dishes. The response was excellent, and a second campaign centered on potatoes is planned for autumn.

Kuldīga has become one of Latvia's gastronomic tourism destinations, thanks to good restaurants, home producers, and local products. The author emphasizes that entrepreneurs need to be visible and show real things and processes, as visitors increasingly value naturalness. There is also great potential in wellness and nature tourism—Kuldīga would suit SPA services using the rivers, peace, and landscape. This would help extend the tourism season beyond summer. The author believes that the combination of gastronomy, nature, and wellness could become a success story for Kuldīga municipality.
