Cadet Who Killed Two Instructors at Training Center Gets Life Sentence
A Chernihiv district court has sentenced a cadet to life imprisonment for killing two military instructors and wounding a third at a training center in July 2025.
Life Sentence for Double Murder
The Chernihiv District Court found a cadet guilty of the intentional murder of two military instructors and the wounding of another, sentencing him to life imprisonment.
The incident occurred on July 16, 2025, on the grounds of one of the Armed Forces of Ukraine's training centers. During a live-fire exercise, the cadet fired automatic weapon at the instructors. Two of them died from their injuries.
Charges
The cadet was charged under two articles: “Intentional murder of two or more persons in connection with performance of official duty” and “Completed attempt of intentional murder of two or more persons in connection with performance of official duty.” The court imposed the maximum penalty—life imprisonment.
