Charity grill brunch to feature sweet auction supporting young patients

Attendees will be able to bid on desserts prepared by several Latvian pastry chefs and confectionery masters, with all proceeds donated to help young patients at the POGA rehabilitation centre.
What's on offer
Several known names have contributed treats. Inese Krūmiņa made homemade marshmallow using apples picked in the Vidzeme region, paired with dark chocolate. Linda Bekmane, working with Puratos Latvia, will offer classic French canelé pastries. The social enterprise Ugly Cake, which employs people with functional disabilities, prepared an assorted cracker set including vegan and gluten-free options.
Laura Ķezēna of MOMA.desserts will present her signature American brownie, developed after testing nearly a hundred variations. "Zanes kūkas" from Dobele will bring handmade marshmallow figures, while pastry chef Dace Zaharčenko of Desertu dārzs prepared a bento cake with vanilla sponge and cream cheese filling. Airita un kūkas will contribute a tower of cinnamon buns.
Why it matters
Every euro raised in the auction will directly help a child receive needed rehabilitation. Organisers are encouraging visitors to bring money for the auction, noting it is a chance to both enjoy a quality treat and support a meaningful cause.
The Charity Grill Brunch is organised by the charity association "Pipars" together with grill equipment store "Grillhouse". The event's media partners are TV24 and LA.lv.
