Latvia weather: cloudy, with rain and stronger wind due on Wednesday
The Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre forecasts the weather from Tuesday, 13 October, to the end of the week. Rain and stronger winds are expected on Wednesday, with conditions calming towards the weekend.

Skies over Latvia will be cloudy on Tuesday, 13 October. Later in the week a new cyclone approaching from the west will bring rain and stronger wind on Wednesday. This is the forecast of the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre, which prepares weather forecasts for the country. Towards the end of the week conditions are expected to become calmer.
Tuesday
Brief rain is expected in many places overnight, and thunderstorms are possible in some coastal areas. During the day, short spells of rain will remain mainly in the east, and the sun will break through in places. Winds will be light, and light to moderate northerly or northwesterly at the coast overnight, with gusts of up to 14 m/s. Fog will thicken in some districts overnight and in the morning. Temperatures will fall to +4...+8°C at night, to +10°C on the coast, and rise to +8...+13°C by day.
Wednesday
It will again be mostly cloudy, with fog in some districts overnight and in the morning. From morning a band of precipitation will cross Latvia from the west, bringing intermittent rain across most of the territory. As the new cyclone nears, the wind will gradually strengthen to moderate or fairly strong southerly and southwesterly, with coastal gusts of 15–19 m/s. From morning the wind at the coast and in the west will gradually turn to westerly and northwesterly. Night temperatures will be +5...+10°C, and daytime +8...+13°C.
Thursday and the weekend
On Thursday cloud cover in the west will vary, while the east will be cloudier, with rain in many places overnight. The day should pass without significant precipitation. Winds will be light, though overnight on the coast they will be light to moderate westerly or northwesterly with gusts of up to 14 m/s. Temperatures will be +6...+11°C at night and +11...+14°C by day.
At the end of the week the rain will stop, the sun will appear at times, and no gusty wind is expected until next Tuesday, when the weather will most likely turn wetter and windier again.
