Latgalian-language planner “Giut breidi” for 2027 may be its last edition
The 2027 edition of the Latgalian-language planner “Giut breidi” is on pre-order, and its creators say it may be the final one. It is the only planner of its kind published in Latgalian.

Pre-orders have opened in Latvia for the 2027 edition of the planner “Giut breidi”, and its creators say it could be the last. The planner is the only publication of its kind in the Latgalian language, and the 2027 edition returns to Latgalian after last year's version was issued in standard Latvian. The news was reported by the portal lakuga.lv.
About “Giut breidi”
The planner first came out in 2021. The idea comes from Līga Springa, and the graphic designer is Liāna Merņaka. Photographer Amanda Anusāne, who also runs lakuga.lv, joined the team later. This year she is not the only photographer featured: Natālija Brokāne and Kristīna Čimbaraite have also contributed.
The theme of this year's planner is “TO BEGIN”. Springa encourages readers to dare to take a step into the unknown, whether it is a new job, a new pursuit or life in a new city. The planner can be ordered on the website giutbreidi.lv.
Design
Merņaka says this year's planner has a different character from earlier ones: the design mixes chaos with order. Spiral drawings appear between photographs on the pages, symbolising the flow of thoughts and the birth of ideas. Yellow and blue tones combined with black-and-white photographs strengthen the contrasts.
Closing the story
The team has agreed that this could be the final year of publication, and thanks its supporters and users. Springa stresses that the planner closes the story begun in 2021, but says the team believes every ending also brings something new. The author is not sure whether the planner will appear next year.
