Latvian triple jumper Brenda Apsite visits four US universities
Brenda Apsite, Latvia's 2024 U18 European triple jump champion, has visited four US universities before choosing where to study and compete. Her final stop was the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.

Latvian athlete Brenda Apsite (18), who won the 2024 U18 European title in the triple jump, has visited four universities in the United States. The trips are part of her process of deciding which institution to attend for studies and athletics.
On Instagram, the athlete named the universities of Arkansas, Illinois and Florida, and the University of Southern California (USC), calling this group her "top 4". Apsite thanked the hosts for their warm welcome and the time they devoted to her. In her words, meeting the teams, walking around the campuses and seeing what life at each one could look like was fantastic.
Last stop: Los Angeles
She finished the tour at USC in Los Angeles. Adriana Kruzmane (20), the 2025 U20 European bronze medallist in the triple jump, began her studies there a few months ago.
At one point, three Latvian athletes were on the USC campus at the same time. Emilija Brauna (17), the U18 European silver medallist in the long jump, had also come to see the university in person.
The source does not say which university Apsite will eventually choose.
