Changeable Weather Ahead in Latvia: Cold Nights and Possible Wet Snow on Friday
Latvia's Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre forecasts cloudy weather with light local rain through the middle of the week. On Friday, wet snow is possible in the northeast of the country.

Latvia's Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre has issued its forecast for the rest of the week: cloudy weather with light rain in some areas, and on Friday possible wet snow in the northeast of the country. Nights will be cold, while daytime temperatures will rise above zero.
Wednesday
Light rain and drizzle are expected in places overnight, mainly in the east, and in the second half of the day, mainly in the northeast. In the first half of the night, northerly wind gusts on the coast will reach 15 m/s. Overnight the air will cool to between -1 and +3 degrees, with the coast somewhat warmer in many places. Daytime highs will range from +5 to +10 degrees.
Thursday
Skies will be cloudy, with some clearing in places. Light rain is possible only in a few locations in the east. A light to moderate westerly and northwesterly wind will blow, and during the day gusts on the coast will reach 15 m/s. The night will be warmer than the previous one, with temperatures falling to +3...+8 degrees and the coast a couple of degrees warmer still. Daytime temperatures will reach +7...+12 degrees.
Friday and the weekend
On Friday there will be less cloud, with sun alternating with clouds. Light rain, and possibly wet snow, is expected overnight and in the morning in the far northeastern districts. Northwesterly and northerly winds will remain gusty on the coast in the first half of the night. Overnight temperatures will fall to +1...+4 degrees, and +4...+9 on the coast, while daytime temperatures will be similar to previous days.
The centre says light rain is also expected only in places over the weekend. The temperature trend will remain similar to previous days, without significant changes, although on the night to Saturday, as skies clear, it may become a few degrees cooler than the week before.
