Latvijas Attīstībai Nominates Two Bauska District Candidates in Zemgale; Former Minister Plešs Also on List
The party Latvijas attīstībai has announced its candidate list for the 15th Saeima elections in the Zemgale electoral district, featuring two representatives from Bauska district – Dace Dukāte and Mikus Markevičs – and former Environment and Regional Development Minister Artūrs Toms Plešs.

The political party “Latvijas attīstībai” has unveiled its candidates for the upcoming 15th Saeima elections in the Zemgale region. The list is headed by Leons Līdums, chairman of Aizkraukle Municipality Council, followed by former minister and MP Artūrs Toms Plešs in second place. Third is Arvis Upīts, head of the Communications Department at Aizkraukle Municipality, and fourth is Gatis Gūtmanis, a deputy of Aizkraukle Council.
Two candidates from Bauska district appear on the list. Dace Dukāte, a youth affairs specialist at Bauska Municipality and board member of the association “Odikozāra”, is ranked eighth. She holds higher education degrees in business management and social work. Her asset declaration lists real estate in Bauska district and several cars.
Mikus Markevičs, an analyst at Air Baltic Corporation, is in eleventh place. He earned a professional bachelor’s degree in business management from BA School of Business and Finance. His declaration includes a 2024 Citroën car and debt of 16,000 euros.
Artūrs Toms Plešs currently serves as CEO of “EWE Neue Energien”. His declaration shows an apartment and other property in Riga, cash savings of 10,000 euros, 20,941 euros in a bank account, and fund investments worth 17,162 euros. His liabilities total 135,383 euros.
The party has submitted 11 candidates in Zemgale. In its election program, Latvijas attīstībai emphasizes building a secure, competitive, and growth-oriented Latvia, promising to reduce bureaucracy, boost entrepreneurship and investment, develop science and defense, improve healthcare and teacher salaries, and support families and energy independence.
