Latvijas Avīze Invites Readers to Take a Spy Quiz and Win Tickets to the Premiere of “Tumšā robeža”
The Latvian newspaper Latvijas Avīze is offering a 10-question quiz on spy-style situations. One participant will win two invitations to the 4 November premiere of Andrejs Ēķis’s spy thriller “Tumšā robeža” (“The Dark Border”).

The Latvian daily newspaper Latvijas Avīze has published an entertainment quiz on its website, inviting readers to test how well they could recognise a spy and handle suspicious situations. One winner will be drawn from all those who complete the quiz and will receive two invitations to the premiere of the Latvian spy thriller “Tumšā robeža” (the title translates roughly as “The Dark Border”).
About the film
The new film by director Andrejs Ēķis will premiere on 4 November at the Forum Cinemas cinema. Jēkabs Reinis plays the lead role. The story is set in Latvia in 1938. A counterintelligence officer named Baltais, posing as a journalist, arrives in a border town. His aim is to recover information important to national security and to expose an enemy agent. The film centres on the idea that in a world where everyone may have secrets, trust can turn out to be the most dangerous mistake.
About the quiz and the draw
The quiz has 10 questions testing attentiveness, intuition and the ability to notice suspicious situations. In one example, the reader is asked to imagine sitting in a café and overhearing two people at the next table talking about a “special shipment” that will soon cross the border. The answer options are to ignore the conversation, to listen more carefully, or to report it to the authorities immediately.
The winner will be drawn on Monday, 26 October, and will receive two invitations to the premiere on 4 November.
