Latvian footballers abroad: Aleksanjans scores twice in Sweden, Mezsargs once in Italy
Latvia international Alberts Aleksanjans scored twice in Norrköping's win in Sweden on Sunday, while U21 striker Kristians Mezsargs scored in his Italian side's draw.
Two young Latvian footballers had a productive Sunday with their clubs abroad, in Sweden and in Italy. Both players are currently 20 years old.
Sweden: title in the second tier
Norrköping, a club that has won the Swedish championship several times, secured the title of Sweden's second-strongest league on Sunday. They beat Norrby, from the town of Borås, 4:0. Alberts Aleksanjans scored two of the four goals. He made his debut for Latvia's senior national team, the men's first team, in September this year.
Italy: a draw in Serie C
In Italy's Serie C, Folgore Caratese, from Carate Brianza, drew 2:2 with Lecco. Kristians Mezsargs, a striker for Latvia's U21 national team, which is the national side for young players, hit the target in that match.
The source describes the day as a big one for Latvia's young national team players, since both of them delivered in their clubs' matches in different countries on the same day. Further match details, such as the minutes of the goals, were not given in the source.
