Latvia's clay target shooting teams win Baltic Open Championship overall standings
Latvian teams claimed victory in both trap and skeet team standings at the Baltic Open Championship season finale held in Riga. Several Latvian athletes also delivered strong individual final results.

Latvia's clay target shooters secured convincing team victories at the Baltic Open Championship season finale held in Riga over the weekend, the Latvian Shooting Federation reported on Tuesday.
In the trap discipline, the Latvian team totaled 892 points, ahead of Lithuania with 557 points and Estonia with 542 points. In the skeet team standings, Latvia scored 995 points, followed by Lithuania with 948 points and Estonia with 436 points.
Individual results
In the trap final, Latvian junior Karlis Jurgenovskis took the individual win, having hit 100 of 125 targets in qualification and posting the best final result with 39 hits. Estonia's Heiki Jansalu finished second (112 points in qualification, 36 hits in the final), while Lithuania's Aleksejs Zareckis placed third with 31 hits in the final.
Another Latvian junior, Martins Freimanis, posted the best qualification score in trap - 116 of 125 targets - but finished fourth in the final with 24 hits. Aleksandrs Solovovs reached 102 points in qualification and placed fifth with 18 hits in the final.
In skeet shooting, Latvia's best performer was Raimonds Ozolins, who hit 104 of 125 targets in qualification and took second place in the final with 29 hits. The final stage victory went to Lithuania's Tomas Vaiteknas with 32 hits, while his compatriot Jonas Irzikevicius took third with 25 hits.
Dainis Upelnieks posted the best qualification score with 122 of 125 targets but finished fourth in the final with 22 hits. Vadims Basovs ended the final stage in seventh place, and Valdis Kalejs in eighth.
The Baltic Open Championship was held over three stages - in May in Vilnius and in the Estonian city of Elva, and in July in Riga - with the season finale taking place on August 15-16 at a Riga shooting center.
