Latvian Tennis Players Return to Davis Cup World Group II Play-off
Latvia's men's tennis team has secured a return to the Davis Cup World Group II play-off round after victories in Moldova.

Latvian tennis players are continuing their successful campaign in Moldova, where the Europe Group III tournament is being held. After wins over Azerbaijan (3-0) and Montenegro (2-1), Latvia has regained a chance to enter the Davis Cup World Group II elimination matches.
In the latest match against Montenegro, Rihards Neimanis, ranked 1624th in the ATP rankings, defeated Connor Gannon (ATP 1085) 7-5, 6-4. In the second singles, Roberts Štrombahs (ATP 455) beat Peter Baldorini (ATP 980) 6-3, 4-6, 6-1.
Group B includes Georgia, Kosovo, Moldova, and North Macedonia. The top three countries in the European zone will advance to the 2027 World Group II elimination matches, while the bottom two will be relegated to the 2027 Group IV. Matches are played on clay courts.
In February, Latvia lost to Dominican Republic in the Davis Cup World Group II play-off and dropped to Europe Group III. The Davis Cup is the premier men's team tennis competition, organized by the International Tennis Federation since 1900.
