Latvia Women's Volleyball Team Defeats Greece in European League Finale
The Latvian women's volleyball team beat Greece 3-2 in Tallinn on Saturday, finishing the CEV European League with 7 points.

Latvia's women's national volleyball team played their final match of the CEV European League on Saturday in Tallinn, defeating Greece 3-2 (26:28, 27:25, 13:25, 25:22, 15:8).
Marta Levinska led the scoring for Latvia with 30 points, converting half of her 58 attacks. Anija Jurdža added 19 points, Paula Ņečiporuka 11, and Karmena Struka scored 6 of her 9 points from serves. For Greece, Marta Antuli recorded 29 points, Efrosini Bakodimu 14, and Eleni Baka 13.
The first set was tightly contested: Latvia led 24-20, but Greece saved set points and won 28-26 after a video review confirmed a touch on Elvita Dolotova's fingers. Latvia took the second set 27-25, with Levinska scoring the last four points. Greece dominated the third set 25-13, but Latvia bounced back to win the fourth 25-22, capped by a Jurdža block. In the deciding set, Greece led 3-0 before Karmena Struka served three aces to put Latvia ahead 7-4; they sealed the set 15-8 with a block by Struka and Irbe Lazda.
Overall, Latvia finished with 7 points from six matches, placing 16th among 24 teams. Greece has 12 points from five matches for 6th place. In the world rankings, Greece is 28th and Latvia 65th.
The European League also serves as qualification for the 2028 European Championship. Latvia's team will also compete in this year's European Championship final tournament.
