Robert Lewandowski, one of the most decorated footballers of his generation, is taking his talents to Major League Soccer. The 37-year-old Polish striker has agreed to a two-year deal with Chicago Fire, the club confirmed on Monday.

Lewandowski joins the Fire after a stint at Spanish powerhouse Barcelona, where he signed a four-year contract in 2022. During his time in Catalonia, he won three La Liga titles, three Spanish Super Cups, and one Copa del Rey.

His professional career began in 2005 in Warsaw, later playing for Polish clubs Znicz Pruszków and Lech Poznań. With Lech, he won the Polish league, cup, and super cup once each.

From 2010 to 2014, Lewandowski played for Borussia Dortmund, winning two Bundesliga titles, the DFB-Pokal, and the German Supercup, and reaching the UEFA Champions League final in 2013.

In 2014, he moved to Bayern Munich, where he scored 344 goals in eight seasons. Lewandowski is a ten-time German champion (eight with Bayern), won the Champions League with the club, three DFB-Pokals, and five German Supercups. Bayern also claimed the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup in 2020.

Lewandowski is Poland's all-time leading scorer with 89 goals in 167 appearances. He was named FIFA World Player of the Year in 2020 and 2021.
