Riga Airport warns of possible flight disruptions amid storm
Riga Airport says flight operations could be affected more as an intense storm gains strength, urging passengers to check for updates. Latvia has been hit by what is described as its most destructive storm since January 2005.

Riga Airport spokeswoman Laura Kulakova said weather conditions have not so far significantly affected airport operations, but as the storm intensifies, flight traffic could be impacted more severely.
The airport has urged passengers and those meeting arrivals to monitor current information on its website or contact their airlines directly to confirm flight details.
Storm hits the whole country
On Saturday evening, Latvia was struck by a storm described as the most destructive since January 2005. Powerful winds have been felling trees, blocking roads and damaging buildings across the country.
The Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre (LVĢMC) has issued orange, yellow and red warnings for both strong wind and heavy rain in Riga and throughout Latvia.
As a result of the storm and the warnings issued, a number of outdoor events planned across Latvia have been cancelled.
