Britain's Joe Fraser wins all-around bronze at gymnastics World Championships
Great Britain's Joe Fraser won bronze in the men's all-around at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Rotterdam. The result came a day after the British men's team missed out on qualifying for the 2028 Olympics.

British gymnast Joe Fraser, 27, won the bronze medal in the men's all-around at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The all-around is contested across six apparatus. The medal follows a disappointing team final on Wednesday, in which the British men failed to secure a place at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Fraser scored 83.531 after the six disciplines. He became only the third British man to win a world all-around medal. Dan Keatings took silver in 2009 and Max Whitlock did so in 2014.
Japan's Daiki Hashimoto won gold with 85.988, his fourth consecutive all-around title at the World Championships. China's Haonan Yang took silver with 84.199.
Second Briton sixth
Britain's Jake Jarman narrowly missed the podium with 82.865 and finished sixth. It is the best combined result by two British men in the all-around at a World Championships.
Fraser celebrated with a thumb-sucking gesture, a nod to his pregnant girlfriend, who was watching from home. He said she has four weeks to go until the birth.
"I've got a pregnant girlfriend at home with four weeks to go, we've had a team final to qualify for the Olympic Games and sadly didn't make it and I've gone out there today and managed to pick up a bronze medal," Fraser told BBC Sport. He described the past few days as a whirlwind that he had loved every second of.
Another chance to qualify
The British men's team finished fourth in Wednesday's team event, so they will not automatically be heading to Los Angeles. They will get another opportunity to qualify at next year's World Championships.
Jarman, who will compete in the floor final on Saturday, believes the British squad has a lot to give before LA 2028. He called the potential exciting and promising, and said he cannot wait to see where the team stands in two years.
