The foundation Liepāja 2027 has closed the project funding competition of its community programme "Kaimiņu būšana" (Being Neighbours). The programme aims to support residents' initiatives and strengthen cooperation among people. The results were announced by representatives of the foundation.

Applications and supported projects

In total, 28 applications were submitted. Of these, 24 projects were selected for funding, which means four applications did not receive support. A total of 84,000 euros has been allocated to carry out all the supported ideas.

Size of the funding

Each supported project can receive up to 4,000 euros. The money is intended for putting community ideas into practice and encouraging cooperation among residents. If the total sum were divided evenly among all 24 projects, each would receive an average of 3,500 euros, though the actual amounts may differ.

What projects to expect

The headline of the original report names a giant dragon and winter swimming masterclasses as examples of the supported ideas. A full list of the supported projects was not provided in this information.
