Liepāja’s football team defeated Super Nova on Saturday, strengthening their position in fourth place in the league standings. The visitors started strongly, taking the lead in the 28th minute when Lizunovs capitalized on a home team error in midfield to score on the counterattack.

Just nine minutes later, in the 37th minute, a handball in the box by a Super Nova player led to a penalty, which Gejs converted to make it 2-0 for Liepāja. However, the hosts fought back and in the first minute of stoppage time, Patijčuks scored from a Kivona Leidsmanis pass, reducing the deficit to 2-1 and giving Super Nova the lead at halftime.

In another match, Tukums 2000 drew 1-1 at home against Daugavpils. Upcoming fixtures this round include Ogre United vs Riga, Grobiņa vs RFS, and Auda vs Jelgava.
