Lithuania among EU leaders in housing price growth
Housing prices in Lithuania rose 14.3% over the past year, one of the EU's fastest increases, while Latvia saw 11.4% growth and Estonia 5.8%.

New Eurostat data released Thursday shows housing prices in Lithuania climbed 14.3% over the past year, making it one of the fastest-rising markets in the European Union. Only Portugal, with a 16.5% increase, and Bulgaria, with 15.5%, recorded faster annual growth.
Lithuania also posted the EU's largest quarterly increase, with prices rising 5% between the first and second quarters of the year.
Baltic comparison
Among the other Baltic states, Latvia recorded an 11.4% year-over-year increase in housing prices, while Estonia saw a smaller rise of 5.8%. Quarter-on-quarter, prices grew 3.9% in Latvia and 3.5% in Estonia.
Across the EU as a whole, housing prices rose an average of 4.7% in the second quarter compared with the same period last year, with a 1.2% increase from the first quarter to the second.
The figures show all three Baltic states outpacing the EU average for annual price growth, though the gap between them is notable — Lithuania's rate of increase is more than double that of Estonia.
