The Limbaži Municipality Sports School, which provides sports education to children and young people in Latvia, has been accredited for six years. The accreditation was carried out in September by an expert commission of the State Education Quality Service. The result means the school will continue operating with a confirmed quality assessment for an extended period.

What the commission assessed

The accreditation took place from 7 to 11 September. Experts evaluated the school's work in four quality areas: compliance with goals, quality teaching and learning, an inclusive environment, and good management.

Of the 12 quality elements assessed, 11 received the rating "Very good" and one received "Good".

Aspects praised

The commission particularly highlighted the school's purposeful work in promoting the athletic development of children and young people, its well-organised teaching and training process, its safe and psychologically supportive environment, and the professionalism of its teachers. The students' high achievements in competitions at Latvian, European and world level were also noted.

The work of school director Diāna Zaļupe was also rated highly. Experts stressed her long management experience, strategic thinking, ability to build a professional team and contribution to the development of sports education.

Recommendations

The commission also made recommendations for improving the teaching and training process, material and technical resources, and sports infrastructure.

The Limbaži Municipality administration congratulated the school's management, coaches, students and staff on the result, and thanked coaches, students, parents and employees. The full expert commission report is available on the school's website.
