LOK makes strategic decision: revival of Latvian Olympiad in Riga by 2029
The Latvian Olympic Committee has decided to hold the Latvian Youth Olympiad in Jurmala in summer 2028 and revive the traditional Latvian Olympiad in Riga in 2029.

The Latvian Olympic Committee (LOK) has taken two key decisions regarding future sports events during its executive committee meeting. Firstly, it was determined that the Latvian Youth Olympiad will take place in Jurmala in the summer of 2028. Secondly, plans were approved to revive the historic Latvian Olympiad in 2029, which will be held in Riga.
This decision marks a revival of tradition, as the Latvian Olympiad is a long-standing sporting event that brings together young athletes from across the country. The LOK executive committee believes that such events promote sports development and popularization among youth. Further details on organizational issues and the program are yet to be developed, but the strategic direction is now clear.
