Manhunt in London for prisoner who absconded from medical facility
London's Metropolitan Police are searching for Anthony Lloyd, a 38-year-old prisoner who forced his way out of a health unit in Lewisham on Friday. Police say he poses a risk to himself and the public and urge people not to approach him.

A manhunt is under way in London for prisoner Anthony Lloyd, who left a medical facility in the capital of the United Kingdom. According to the Metropolitan Police, he forced his way out of a health unit in Lewisham, south-east London, shortly after 4pm on Friday. Police say he poses a risk both to himself and to the public.
What is known about the escapee
Lloyd was convicted in 2025 of actual bodily harm over an incident in Nottinghamshire involving three emergency services workers, the Press Association reports. He received a 12-month custodial sentence. In September he was transferred to the medical facility in Lewisham.
He is 38, white, about 5ft 8in tall and of medium build, with short dark hair. When last seen at about 4.10pm on Friday, he was wearing a grey-blue T-shirt, black tracksuit bottoms and white trainers. He was heading in the direction of Catford.
Police appeal
Det Supt Melanie Pressley, who is leading the search, said officers were conducting various significant inquiries to find Lloyd and return him to custody. Police urge the public not to approach him and to call 999 immediately if they see him.
Officers believe Lloyd could be anywhere in London. He also has links to Surrey, Sussex, Thames Valley, Hampshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Merseyside.
Anyone with information, however small, is asked to call 999 and quote the reference CAD4739/23Oct.
