New director starts work at Madliena Secondary School
Anita Avišāne, former lecturer at Riga Technical University, has started as the new director of Madliena Secondary School in Ogres novads.

On Monday, 3 August, Anita Avišāne took up the post of director at Madliena Secondary School. She was selected through an open competition, the Ogre municipality has reported.
Avišāne previously worked as a lecturer at Riga Technical University. The municipality says that her professional experience in education, managerial skills, strategic thinking and vision for the school's development were highly rated during the selection.
As of 1 August, Taurupe Primary School and Ķeipene Primary School have been merged into Madliena Secondary School, keeping education available for pupils in their home towns. Under the adopted decision, from 1 September the municipality will co-finance teachers' salaries at locations where classes have fewer pupils than the minimum set by the Cabinet of Ministers.
