Malaysian football club JDT extends unbeaten league run to 113 matches
Johor Darul Ta'zim, a club in Malaysia's top football division, the Super League, has broken the record for the longest unbeaten run in a national championship. The streak now stands at 113 matches.

Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT), a club in Malaysia's top football division, the Super League, keeps setting records: the team has gone 113 consecutive matches without defeat in the national championship. The run has surpassed the previous mark, which belonged to the Ivorian club ASEC Mimosas.
Ivorian club's streak surpassed
The key record came on 21 August, when JDT beat Kuching City FC 3-0 and played its 109th consecutive unbeaten league match. That topped the 108-match run set by ASEC Mimosas in the Ivory Coast championship between 1989 and 1994.
Since then the club has extended the streak to 113 matches. This season it has won only convincingly and without conceding. The next match is scheduled for 18 October.
Last defeat came in 2021
JDT last lost a national league match on 24 April 2021, when Terengganu won. That was the club's only defeat of that season.
Other records
The club also holds other records. In the final match of the previous season, JDT beat Kelantan The Real Warriors 14-1, the biggest win in the history of the Malaysian Super League. After that match, the team became national champions for the 12th season in a row, which is also a record.
According to the source, it will be very hard for any other club to match or beat such a record.
